Vaccination InformationA vaccination works by exposing an individual to a piece of a microorganism to enable their immune system to create antibodies against that microorganism. These antibodies remain in the body and provide it with recognition of that microorganism the next time it is encountered. Quick recognition via an antibody signals destruction of those microorganisms via white blood cells, likely before the individual is even aware of their existence.
